Our base in Grenzach-Wyhlen is about ten kilometres east of Basel, right at the border. What is a journey for guests is the way to work for us: we cater regularly in Basel-Stadt, Riehen and Bettingen, in Basel-Land and in Aargau as far as Möhlin.

The kitchen behind it: Hotel & Restaurant Eckert with one star in the Guide MICHELIN, and Krone Inzlingen. Depending on the occasion, your catering comes from one of the two houses, with the same signature and one contact.

Also in demand: Three Borders region, Lörrach and corporate catering.

Across the border

The border as routine, not as an obstacle

Catering into Switzerland is a matter of preparation, not luck. Customs declaration, paperwork, import VAT, invoicing logic and staff have been rehearsed with us for years. You plan an event, we bring the machinery.

In Basel we speak to hosts in Swiss logic: apéro timing, allergen labelling, delivery zones on plant sites. That makes the difference on the day.

    Customs and paperwork

    We declare deliveries at the border, handle customs clearance and collect tableware and equipment on the next business day. You see none of it.

    VAT and currency

    Invoice in euros, with the amount also shown in CHF at the daily rate on request. Swiss import VAT is handled by us.

  3. 03

    Drive

    Grenzach-Wyhlen is about 10 km east of Basel, right at the border. Across the Rhine bridge we are in the city in 20 minutes, hot food arrives hot.

    Service in Swiss German

    Service team from our own WIO houses: German, Swiss German, French and English. No agency staff, no language issue on the night.

Yes. Basel-Stadt, Riehen and Bettingen are part of our core area, plus Pratteln, Augst and Möhlin in Basel-Land and Aargau. From Grenzach-Wyhlen these are short, well-rehearsed routes across the border.
02 How do customs and VAT work? +
For events in Switzerland we handle the customs declaration and Swiss import VAT. You receive a clear invoice in euros, with the amount also shown in CHF at the daily rate on request. You don’t deal with the border.
03 How much does catering in Basel cost? +
Canapés and flying buffet from €35 per person, buffet with service from €55, menu at the table from €95, Signature at Michelin level from €150. Border logistics and staff are calculated transparently in the quote, no surprises.
04 Does your team speak Swiss German? +
Yes. Our service team comes from our own WIO houses in the Three Borders region and speaks German, Swiss German, French and English. For guest lists from Basel, Lörrach and Mulhouse we tailor the team.
05 How much lead time for an event in Basel? +
Corporate events and receptions usually 4 to 8 weeks, weddings 6 to 12 months. Short notice often works anyway, we’ll tell you straight when a date gets tight.
06 Do you bring tableware, furniture and a kitchen? +
Yes. Tableware, glasses, cutlery, linen, standing tables and the mobile kitchen travel with us across the border. You only need power, water and space, we bring the rest.
