Weddings

Wedding at a Markgräfler castle

The Markgräflerland has an unusual density of wedding venues — historic castles with views over the Rhine plain, wineries around Auggen, Müllheim and Heitersheim, private farms, barns and gardens among the vines. Specific venues we discuss on request.

We work on all these formats and know the logistics of the region — narrow access, limited power supply in old buildings, outdoor surfaces without a kitchen. We bring what’s needed.

Asparagus & season

May to June,
asparagus from Auggen.

Markgräfler asparagus has its own roots — Auggen, Müllheim, Heitersheim. We work it as a canapé, in the classic with ham and grenaille potatoes, or as a full menu course. Season from late March to 24 June. While it lasts, we’ll quickly tell you when it has a place on the menu.

Wine pairing

Pairings with Markgräfler winemakers

The Markgräflerland is one of Germany’s oldest wine regions. Chasselas, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir — and increasingly Chardonnay and Auxerrois — shape its profile. We compose the menu so that the wines you’re serving show at their best.

The pairing often takes shape in conversation with your winemaker — you choose the wine, we compose the dish. Often we also suggest from our network of regional winemakers we work with.

FAQ

Markgräflerland — frequently asked questions

Question
01 Do you do asparagus catering in spring? +
Yes, it’s one of our favourite subjects. Markgräfler asparagus from Auggen, Müllheim and Heitersheim — as a canapé, in the classic with ham and grenaille potatoes, or as a full course. The season runs from late March to 24 June; during that window, asparagus can find its place on almost any menu on request.
02 Wedding at a winery — possible? +
Gladly. We work on request at private wineries in the Markgräflerland — wine from the estate, the menu signed by us. We know the logistics of these venues: cramped kitchens, outdoor surfaces with limited power, cellar storage. We bring the mobile kitchen, tableware, service and staff.
03 Which wine pairings do you recommend? +
Chasselas with fish and vegetables, Pinot Noir with autumn game, Auxerrois with asparagus. We compose the menu with your winemaker — or suggest from our network. You pick the wine; we find the pairing.
04 Do you cover the whole region? +
From Bad Bellingen in the south to Schliengen in the north, via Müllheim, Auggen, Heitersheim, Buggingen and Sulzburg. Routes and logistics stay smooth across the whole Markgräflerland.
05 Is there a recommended lead time for summer weekends? +
Saturdays from May to September are in high demand. 9 to 14 months ahead for weddings — longer for the most popular estates. For weekday weddings or April/October, shorter often works.
